Summer Jumpstart Day 3

Growing up, the mood and “culture” of our family was often dictated by one particular person. More often than not, the rest of us adjusted our feelings to reflect what was happening in our home.

And so I grew to be an adult without ever realizing what my opinion was, how to speak up for myself, and when to walk away from toxic relationships.

Needless to say, I don’t want that for my kids.

I don’t think anyone could ever accuse my children of not having an opinion or sharing it with others, which is why our #1 family motto is: “Be kind.”


Shortly after I discovered I was an introvert and Addie was an extrovert, I came across the book Nurture by Nature.  The idea of understanding my child’s personality style and becoming a better parent was too intriguing to pass up.

I think we all have unique gifts that should be discovered and celebrated. So while this topic might seem like a detour, I promise it relates to our summer schedule in an important way. Watch the video for more:
